Claude Trudon began making his candles in 1643. To make the candles, beeswax is used. The wax is harvested from the beehive, filtered, washed and exposed to sunlight. This is how the candles get their pure white color. The motto “Deo regique laborant” means “They work for God and the King”. Each candle is still filled by hand in Normandy, France. The wax formula is developed over years of accumulated knowledge. No smoke leaves a Trudon candle and no wax remains on the inside of the glass. Each glass is unique and handmade in France and inspired by the champagne bottle.
